7 months!

 my baby girl is seven whole months already. every month goes by so fast. this year is going so fast.

i just love her so much. she brings so much joy and so many smiles.

this is a less intense version of her scrunchy face that she makes ALL the time lol

i can never put into words how eternally grateful i am for her and that i get to stay home with her. i would
have it no other way. thank you Jesus for your provision!

scarlett weighs just under 24 lbs now. she rolled over for the first time this last month and is now rolling both ways consistently! she isn't crawling yet but she wants to...bad! she's close. definitely movin around a lot.

she is very determined!

miss scarlett is very passionate already :) she goes very strongly after what she wants and gets very excited about it.

 she loves to play hide 'n seek and singing! and mirrors! put the girl in front of a mirror and she's happy lol.
eating has been going well! she is still mostly nursing but some of her favorite solids include: kiwi, venison, spaghetti, broccoli and green peppers.

this is definitely my favorite age so far! although i say that every month ;)

this afternoon i mentioned something about scarlett's 1st birthday party and how i will have to start planning it in a couple months. alex: "more like august!" ha. i have already been thinking about and pinning ideas for months lol. as i began to talk more about it he says "you know it's not like planning our wedding...it's a birthday party." lol....oh but alex... it kinna is.

and it is going to be a fabulous day.

ahhh laurel + dan are married!!!!

last weekend we headed up north for their beautiful wedding. so fun.
they are just too cute :) laurel is alex's step sister (for those that don't know) and dan is, well was, her long time bf...like really long time...like since middle school ha. i love them :)  laurel is honestly one of the most beautiful people i've ever met. in every way. she's a lot like her momma :) she is so compassionate...really good at loving everybody and making you feel comfortable. i'm so blessed to have her in my life and SO excited that she is in scarlett's life :) they adore eachother already. dan is pretty great too ;) they really are just so cute together. i wish they didn't live all the way down in houston :(

a baby + her puppy

ahhhh weather like today makes my heart sing! i. love. it. 70's + sunny, a little windy but i'll take it!! scar and i went shopping, hung out on the porch (days like today i am reminded at how important a yard is! i hate not having one), went to swim class and hung outside some more :) i loved not having to bundle scarlett up to go out. a dress, her floppy hat, and bare feet and we're good to go!

she has recently become all about harlan. it's the cutest thing. he is very gentle and patient with her. we are blessed to have such a good dog...

comfort

some nights, like tonight, it takes a while to get scarlett to stay asleep. i will lay with her for an hour sometimes while she uses me as a pacifier. most of the time i thoroughly enjoy laying next to her, cuddling her...i take the time to pray for her and whisper words of life over her. but there are also times -- and tonight was one of those times -- that i don't enjoy it so much. i get impatient. i want her to let go of me so i can go get something done! or just relax without a baby attached to me! and then of course i feel guilty for feeling that way. but even in the few times that i have felt that way i would never change it for the world.

when she was first born i was so concerned about sleep training...and everything i read about that said DON'T nurse her to sleep. and don't be a human pacifier!  i tried not to. well. kind of. more like i vented to alex about how i didn't know how that would work and then would say "ok tonight i'm not gonna let her fall asleep while nursing"...aaaand then not so much lol. nursing her to sleep was easy and natural. just thinking about going against that made me frustrated so i gave up the whole idea of sleep training my baby (and have learned and realized so much since then that i don't even know what i was thinking in the beginning lol). we have been so much happier since then :)

honestly...i love and am thankful for being able to comfort scarlett by nursing. i love the bond we share because of it.

6 months!

six whole months. half of a year. it's already going by so fast.

scarlett is now 22 lbs 4 oz and 27 1/2 inches long! pretty high on the charts.
she has TWO bottom teeth! she has only bit me twice while nursing--the first time i jumped and probably made a weird noise and she cried...i felt so bad but it really startled me! i handled the second time more calmly :)
she sits like a pro...still diving for things...trying to crawl...but still doesn't enjoy being on her tummy.
she is fascinated by anything new. she loves bouncing, whether in her bouncer or in your lap.
she is such a relaxed, content baby. it takes her a little bit to warm up to most people. she doesn't smile at just anyone lol. but she is allllll smiles at home! especially when daddy comes home :) she gets so excited to see him. so sweet.
she talks all the time and loves giving mommy + daddy kisses :)
